Image by R. Valentine Atkinson titled Casting Platform
As I related in the introduction, I was the subject in several of Val's early fly fishing photos. These were two that hung in Henry's Fork Anglers from 1980 until 2006. These are photos of photos taken by another camera artist...me! The one on top was made into a postcard by CalTrout and thousands of them were mailed out across California in the 80"s. It was titled "Catch and Release" on the postcard. I was not aware of this until I received my postcard...I still have it somewhere. Guess I should find it and marry it to the photo. It is my guess that these two photos were the first prints ever made of these images. As I said earlier, they are two of my most important fly fishing treasures.

Somewhere along the line I want to do a blog about fishing hats. The hat I was wearing in these photos is still with me. It is an Bailey straw hat I purchased in 1977 at Eagle's Store in West Yellowstone, Mt. It bears several trophies in the way of flies that caught special fish and, it is probably the most valuable of my fly fishing treasures. You can see photos of the hat and the "hat story" here...The Hat...
